About Department: The Department of English established in the year1890. When Robertson College was bifurcated into Mahakaushal Arts & Commerce College and Govt. Science College in the year 1962, under the departments of Languages, “English” gained its separate identity.

The participation of the Department in BCA-Ist semester classes of Communicative English Paper V.

Participation of the department in the courses offered by other departments : English  being the part of Foundation Course in all subject & groups the department contributes in all the UG courses offered by the college.

Areas of consultancy and income generated: Consultation is available at “English Language Lab””which is open for all- teachers and students, no income is generated through this facility.

Present details of infrastructural facilities are as follows:-

(a) Departmental library is in English Language Lab and has 52 books.

(b) Internet facility for staff and students is available in the department.

(c) Student’s Laboratory:- One English Language Lab.”Wordsworth’s Language Learning Software” of 10 computers exists.
